Hi. My name is Sam and I am Canadian living in Japan. I have been teaching in Japan for the past 13 years at kindergartens, elementary schools, junior high schools and high schools. My hobbies are travelling and collecting driftwood at the beach. I have been to over 15 countries and I hope I can one day travel the world. Going to the beach helps me relax. The reason I prefer younger kids is because they are eager to learn. I mainly want to teach very young kids aged 3 to 9. My lessons are based on phonics. There are 4 levels in my program. The first level is learning how to write and pronounce the upper case letters of the Alphabet. In the second level, we learn how to write and pronounce uppper case words. The third and fourth levels are based on lower case letters. We also use music videos and repetition to help with retention. All in all, we learn about 800 new words in the 4 year program.
