【講師経歴】
9歳から学習塾で英語を学ぶ。中学校時代は90点以上しか取らず、ALTの先生と映画や旅行について沢山会話をし、語学の必要性を感じ、英語話者になる決意する。

その後全国的にも注目される英語科がある高校に進学。しかし他の生徒のレベルの高さに圧倒され自信を喪失し、簡単な自己紹介さえ言えなくなる。それでもTED talkや好きな映画を観続け、人前で自分の考えを伝えることの大切さを知り、三年次の最終プレゼンではイラク戦争帰還兵のPTSDについて発表し、高評価を得た。

国立大学人文学部国際社会コミュニケーション学科に進学、言語学と教職課程を専攻。二年次には入学前から計画していた交換留学でスウェーデンヨーデポリ大学に1年間教育学、社会科学を履修、日本語学科でスウェーデン人の学生に日本語指導、現地の日本人補習校で教育実習も行った。

大学卒業後、北欧発祥グローバル企業に英語面接、英語プレゼンテーションを経て倍率100倍を勝ち抜き唯一の日本人として採用され、5年勤務。英語でのメールや電話、会議、外国人上司とのやり取り、外国籍のお客様の対応も行ってきた。

仕事の傍ら、ボランティアで英語指導を行った。社内英語面接で昇格者が2名、英検合格者2名（3級1名、4級1名）を輩出。また国立大学理系大学院生（博士課程）1名の研究発表と面接を2年間指導し、海外の大学の研究員採用に導いた。

Hello there! I'm Charles, and my students call me Charley, a friendly and professional English teacher who loves to share the joys of language learning with students. I'm eager to connect with the diverse community of learners in Japan.

My teaching philosophy is to create a relaxed and engaging atmosphere where students feel comfortable participating and asking questions.
