Hi! I'm Kate. I am a Bachelor's degree holder and is currently working here in Japan as a Medical English Coach to healthcare providers and I also teach company employees on weekdays.
I have been teaching English for 6 years now, both online and man to man type of lectures. I'd be honored to meet new students in my class. My lecture typically depends on each student's level. I use this unique strategy from what I learned in studying my Nursing major to teaching English in which I call the ADPIE approach. It's a step by step process of teaching. At first, I 'assess' my students level in English through an interview while building rapport. Next, I 'diagnose' the clients level during the first class. The third step, I 'plan' each student's individual learning approach and strategies of lesson execution. Fourth, I do my 'interventions' during the class, such as article discussions, storytelling, free conversations, practice pronunciation, and so on. The last step is to 'evaluate' the students and discover ways to improve their English more and more. I, myself, know how it feels like to study a new language. I'm also studying Japanese as my third language. That's why I am a persistent teacher because I know the frustration and stress of wanting to speak a new language fluently and with ease. This is one of the reasons I’m very patient when it comes to teaching children or beginners.
I encourage parents to expose their children in learning a new language as early as possible. This will help them reach greater goals and understand cultural differences. I also conduct classes with adults who are willing to improve their English skills.
