9歳から学習塾で英語を学ぶ。中学校時代は90点以上しか取らず、ALTの先生と映画や旅行について沢山会話をし、語学の必要性を感じ、英語話者になる決意する。

その後全国的にも注目される英語科がある高校に進学。しかし他の生徒のレベルの高さに圧倒され自信を喪失し、簡単な自己紹介さえ言えなくなる。それでもTED talkや好きな映画を観続け、人前で自分の考えを伝えることの大切さを知り、三年次の最終プレゼンではイラク戦争帰還兵のPTSDについて発表し、高評価を得た。

国立大学人文学部国際社会コミュニケーション学科に進学、言語学と教職課程を専攻。二年次には入学前から計画していた交換留学でスウェーデンヨーデポリ大学に1年間教育学、社会科学を履修、日本語学科でスウェーデン人の学生に日本語指導、現地の日本人補習校で教育実習も行った。

大学卒業後、北欧発祥グローバル企業に英語面接、英語プレゼンテーションを経て倍率100倍を勝ち抜き唯一の日本人として採用され、5年勤務。英語でのメールや電話、会議、外国人上司とのやり取り、外国籍のお客様の対応も行ってきた。
